Wayzata · Lake Minnetonka
Most Twin Cities drone photographers don't maintain the LAANC authorization required for the airspace south of MSP. The agent who hires them owns the liability. We don't do that to you. Lake Minnetonka, Wayzata Bay, Ferndale — we fly them weekly.
Why Wayzata is different
Most of Wayzata's waterfront sits inside controlled airspace because it's south of MSP International. Flying drone there isn't just about being a good pilot — it requires LAANC authorization on top of a current Part 107 license. The pilot needs both, every flight, on file.
Most freelance “drone photographers” in the Twin Cities don't maintain LAANC because they don't fly the Wayzata corridor often enough to justify it. They show up to your $2.5M lakefront listing, look at the airspace map, and either scrub the drone or fly anyway and hope nothing gets reported. Either outcome is your problem, not theirs.
Cineminn flies LAANC-cleared every week. The drone bag has a printed Part 107 card. The corridor is on our standing flight plans. There's no scramble.
How we shoot it
The right photo of a Lake Minnetonka listing tells the buyer something they can't get from the spec sheet — what summer evenings actually look like off your dock. Five years calibrating that craft has produced a specific shot list for the lake:
Out-of-state buyers in Chicago and Dallas look at thirty Lake Minnetonka listings online before they fly in to see two. Yours has to be in the two.

Do you have FAA Part 107 + LAANC clearance for the airspace south of MSP?
Yes. The airspace covering Lake Minnetonka and most of the Wayzata corridor sits inside MSP's controlled airspace, which requires LAANC authorization on top of an active Part 107 license. Most freelance Twin Cities drone photographers don't maintain current LAANC clearance because they don't fly the corridor often. Cineminn does — we fly it weekly.
What's the right drone shot for a Lake Minnetonka waterfront listing?
Pull-back-to-show-shoreline-context, not overhead lot-line shots. Lake buyers want to see the relationship between house and water. We start the camera tight on the property, rise, and pull back to reveal the shoreline + boat slip + lake at full scale. Real twilight on the same flight when scheduled.
Can you fly in Wayzata Bay during peak summer boat traffic?
Yes. We schedule waterfront drone work for early morning or late afternoon when boat traffic and boat noise are minimal. The blue-hour window in May runs roughly 6:42–7:18 PM; in July it's 7:55–8:30 PM.
